My new school

     roadmapthumb1.gif
Sri Pelita Primary and secondary school is going to move to a new location next year. Sri Pelita will move to a location called General College. The place is very big. I am excited about the new place. I have been there once when the school organize Wacky Olympics 2010.

School is a place I have to go to five days a week, except on Saturdays and Sunday and the holidays. I spent a lot of time in school. Thus I cannot help liking some aspects and disliking other aspects of it. However, I think the environment at school is very important because this will  affect out mood to study. If the environment is condusive for learning, than it will help us to concentrate better in class.

My first impression of the new school is not bad. The thing that I like most is the large field and the big compound. Unlike our present school, it has a few blocks and located on a higher ground and the scenery is beautiful. The whole place is surrounded by greeneries. The natural environment  makes me feel good.

There are many facilities in the new school. There is an indoor sports complex and concert hall, a football field, a basketball, a volleyball court and more. Therefore, we would be able to play more games and sports activities in future. However, I hope the school will provide the facilities for gymnastics because my sister and I like gymnastics very much. I would be very happy if I could take up gymnastics again.

The only bad thing that I can foresee about the new school is that it will be further away from my house. So I will need to wake up earlier everyday. However. this will not be a problem for too long because I will be moving to a new house by next year. My new house will be near to the new school.

Sneezing

Sneezing used to be thought of as a means for the body to drive out evil spirits. Today we know that the sudden forceful expulsion of air through the nose and mouth is caused by irritation of the mucous membrane.

Sneezing is caused by irritation to the mucous membranes of the nose or throat.  Pollens, house dust, and other particles are usually harmless, but when they irritate the nose the body responds by expelling them from the nasal passages. The nose mistakes strong odors, sudden chills, and even bright lights and it tries to defend itself with a sneeze. It can be very bothersome, but is generally not a sign of a serious problem.

A sneeze can leave the body at a speed of about 150km an hour. A sneeze involves muscles in the face, throat, chest and abdomen. It is probable, therefore, that a young, fit man can sneeze more forcefully than someone older or someone who has a smaller body frame, but it's clearly dependant on a number of variables whether or not men sneeze more forcefully than women.

There is a common belief that the heart stops whenever we sneeze. It does not, although it can feel like your heart changes beat. Positive pressure is created in the chest when we sneeze (or cough), and that can momentarily alter the forcefulness with which your heart beats.

Sneezes are not life-threatening. However, because you reflexively close your our eyes during each sneeze, it is possible that an ill-timed sneeze while driving could mean you fail to notice the car in front of you, or that the light has turned red. So, sneeze carefully!

Giant Panda

Giant pandas live in a few mountain ranges in central China, in Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu provinces. They once lived in lowland areas, but farming, forest clearing, and other development now restrict giant pandas to the mountains.

The giant panda, a black-and-white bear, has a body typical of bears. It has black fur on ears, eye patches, muzzle, legs, and shoulders. The rest of the animal's coat is white. Although scientists do not know why these unusual bears are black and white, some speculate that the bold coloring provides effective camouflage into their shade-dappled snowy and rocky surroundings. The panda's thick, wooly coat keeps it warm in the cool forests of its habitat. Giant pandas have large molar teeth and strong jaw muscles for crushing tough bamboo. Many people find these chunky, lumbering animals to be cute, but giant pandas can be as dangerous as any other bear.

The giant panda is listed as endangered in the World Conservation Union's (IUCN's) Red List of Threatened Animals. There are about 1,600 left in the wild. Nearly 300 pandas live in zoos and breeding centers around the world, mostly in China.

Adult giant pandas are generally solitary, but they do communicate periodically through scent marks, calls, and occasional meetings. Offspring stay with their mothers from one and a half to three years.

The giant panda has lived in bamboo forests for several million years. It is a highly specialized animal, with unique adaptations.

What is the "in thing" that I am doing at he moment

The "in thing" that I am doing at the moment is using the website. Everyday I live a wired lifetyle because I use the internet to do many things. I will use it for doing my school assignment, hobbies or other special interests like listening to music, playing games and watching movies or other entertaining programs.

I use the Internet during weekdays to complete my school assignments. Since I am not allowed to use the Internet for entertainment during weekdays, I would always play online games or download movies and songs on weekends. I have to admit that I do spent a lot of time using the computer. I think it is a bad thing because it is not good for my eyes. So I will try to reduce spending my time on the computer.

However, I cannot completely refrain from using the Internet because the Internet is fun, informative and a great way of communicating with others. It's an educational tool and I can learn about almost anything. The Internet has become a part of my life so much so that  I can’t even imagine what the world was like before the Internet existed.Online blogs, instant messaging, online chats, and e-mail  have become my weekly routine. These services help me stay in touch with my friends, especially friends who do not live nearby.

The next in thing that I am doing is do my part in saving the earth. Everyday, I recycle things. I  reuse the used paper to do my math homework and for drawing. I support our government's move to have no plastic bag days. Although I think that bringing our own recycle bag is troublesome, but it helps to save our earth. At home, I will make sure that all the fence and fans and light are turned off when nobody is at home.

Internet Abuse

The amount of resources and information the Internet contains is astounding. With the help of information collected on the net we gain vast knowledge. However, many people abuse the internet. The types of Internet abuse are spamming, virus & worms and hackers. Spamming is unsolicited e-mails. In 1997, AOL estimated spams make up a third of Internet mails. Examples of spamming is chain letters. It is sent by someone you know that require you to forward to all your friends, in order to win a prize, help someone , avoid misfortunes or pass lucks. Pop up windows which are not related to our visiting website is also another type of spamming.

Very often, we will get virus from the e-mails that we receive. Therefore, we should not mails that come from people that we do no know. Besides, we might also get virus from downloads.  Infected PC become zombies to attack a larger remote computer, server or website, like MSN and Yahoo! Sometimes we might get server worms where web services become unavailable or Internet traffic becomes extremely slow.

Some hackers do it for fun or personal gains. Hackers change the appearance of popular websites. Theft of confidential

information such as credit numbers and passwords are common. It’s becoming easier than ever to become hackers. Therefore, it is unsafe to disclose our credit card numbers when we buy things online.

There are many consequences of Internet abuse. As an individual time is wasted in reading and deleting spam mails. It will also cause inconvenience because our mail box is full due to spam mails. We will become a victim and suffer from loss of productive hours due to an infected PC, loss of money due to theft of credit card information, embarrassment as private information being exposed and receiving harassed email.

Hanging out with my friend

I don't hang out with friends a lot. However, once in a while I would. A few days ago, my friend, Alice and I went to a shopping centre. Alice lives near my house. So, my mom can fetch us to the shopping centre. We went at 10:00a.m. When we were in the car, we talk a lot. After half an hour, we reached the shopping centre.

Alice and I went to cold storage. Actually I don't have anything to buy. Alice bought  a lot of things at Japanese food section such as Japanese sweets, instant noodle and some strange drinks. I saw many new stuff  in there. I wanted to buy a bar of chocolate, but when I see the price, it was too expensive. At last, I bought  a packet of kimchi. We paid for the things that we have bought and went out from the cold storage.

Next, we went to a cosmetic shop. Alice wanted to buy some nail polish. I helped Alice to choose some  nail polish. After we bought the nail polish, we felt hungry. So, we go to the Mc donald to eat our lunch. Alice and I ordered two double cheese burger. We choose our seats and sat down. While we were eating, we chit-chat with each other.

After we ate finish our lunch, I called my mom to fetch us. We waited outside the shopping mall. After half an hour, my mother came to the shopping mall. We boarded my mom's car. We also talk a lot with my mother in her car. Alice wanted to invite me to her home. I asked my mom and my mom said yes. Then, my mom fetch us to Alice's house.

When I reached her house, I saw a dog. It is Alice's dog. The dog was very fierce to me. Alice said I can feed the dog so the dog won't bark at me. I tried to feed the dog by throwing the food to it. It catched the food and ate it.Alice called me to wait for a while bacause her room was very messy. She wanted to clean the room for a while. I went into her room and I saw some drawing was hanged at the wall. I also saw many small things everywhere.

Alice and I were happy and tired. I stayed in her house until six o'clock. After I ate my dinner, I had a  shower and went to sleep. I was very happy because had a good time with my friend.

World Cup 2010

The FIFA World Cup is being held in South America. The 2010 FIFA World Cup is the 19th FIFA World Cup.The World Cup is held every four years.I watch the first match with my mother. I didn't really support anyone in the matches.I just support the team who wins the match. My mother and I like to scream when the ball went into the goal.

I felt sad when the strong team is going to lose. I like the strong team like Germany, Spain and others. I like the way that they play. It is not boring when the strong team vs another strong team.I felt very excited when I watch the match. My mother always says 'go to sleep' when I watch the match. The interesting match was always screened at 2.30 a.m . So, I did not watch all the match.

The Malaysian  team did not have the chance to play in theWorld Cup. I feel very happy because Malaysia is not strong at all! Malaysia is very bad at football. They should improve their techniques if they want to compete internationally.

I watched the opening ceremony in the beginning of the game. The opening ceremony was very fantastic. There were people dancing, singing and more...But I like Olympic more than World Cup. Sometimes, the game is boring because nobody win or lose. I don't like to play football because it is a very rough game. I'd rather play badminton or  basketball.

I must watch the final match with my mother whether is at 2:30 a.m. or later. I hope the game will be fair to everyone.

Keep ourselves healty

Nutrition. We should always get an adequate nutrition, it is necessary to have a balanced combination of the following elements : Minerals, Vitamins, Proteins, Carbohydrates, Fats, Fibers, Pure water, Oxygen, Sunlight

Positive attitude. It is essential to keep stress low. These keeps the immune system in good condition which produces as a consequence, good health. Stress, on the other hand, tenses neck and back muscles which causes some vertebra in the spinal column to move and dislocate provoking a series of disorders.

Spinal Column. Keeping the spinal column in good condition is important to optimum health. Correct posture, sleeping on a good mattress, and keeping stress low, plus correct nutrition are required factors for maintaining the skeletal system in good health.

Exercise. Exercising daily is also am essential factor for good health, Exercise stimulates the organs like the heart and joints, and in general, activates the whole body, giving vitality even to the farthest cell.

Hygiene. Hygiene for the body is as essential to good health as the other elements. Taking a bath or shower everyday, scrubbing your skin with a gentle loofah or body scrub 2 times a week, brushing your teeth and flossing, cleaning the colon periodically, as well as fasting, which eliminates toxins in the organism, are necessary factors to maintain good health

weird story

In this holiday, me and my dad wanted to plant a small tree next to a gate. We were very happy when we planted the tree. Suddenly, I saw a ladybird at a desk behind me. I picked up the ladybird and threw it beside a bench.

The ladybird came back flying to me.At first I tried to kick it away but it still came back the place where I was. Then, I saw a crow squirt by and ate the ladybird.I was  relived the ladybird was away but I was pure and sad to see it died.

I'd like to frolic at the yard of the barn cause there isn't a single shark in the pond. I've rode on a horse which has gone berserk and made me fell. I'm glad I am alive but I'm afraid I won't do animals again.

I quickly jumped out of the horse then I ran to the field. I gave a sigh cause I was relived. Suddenly a bear zipped and open my backpack and took a sugar and eat it.

After that, I took a walk around the area. After an hour of walking, I noticed that I didn't bring a single penny. While I was looking at the warm and colourless sky, I saw my teacher from school and had a chat whith her.

Penang Bird Park

It was a nice sunny day. We decided to visit Penang Bird Park. It is situated in Seberang Perai. So we had to cross the Penang Bridge. We started our journey early to avoid the hot afternoon sun. Traffic at the Penang Bridge was smooth.

When we arrived, we found that there wasn't many parking space at the bird park. A friendly taxi driver told us that we can park at the roadside across the road. Daddy took the only parking space left happily.

A big parrot at the entrance greeted us with "hello" and startled mom. Everyone burst into laughter. I saw two big eagles. They were huge and very attractive.

Since it was a holiday, there was a huge crowd mainly students wearing school uniforms. At eleven thirty, there was a bird show. The show was spectacular. Amongst the birds that was perform during the show was a few eagles, parrots, owls and storks. I particularly like the storks. I find that they are really cute. The workers threw small fishes for them to catch. Ironically, they could catch each fish without fail with their long and narrow beak. We will amazed. Everyone clapped.

We strolled the park leisurely. We saw some extraordinary species. Other than birds, we also came across some turtles, crocodiles, fishes and snakes. The bird that I like is our Malaysian bird - the Hornbill. There are many types of  Hornbill. Their colourful feathers are very attractive.

We stayed in the park till past noon. We went to Bagan Lalang for a sumptuous seafood lunch. Everyone was happy.  It was definitely a memorable trip.

Harmful Health Effects Of Smoking Cigarettes

Every year hundreds of thousands of people around the world die from diseases caused by smoking cigarettes - Smoking KILLS. One in two lifetime smokers will die from their habit. Half of these deaths will occur in middle age.Tobacco smoke also contributes to a number of cancers.

Many smokers think that health problems from smoking will not happen to them and start well into childhood and that they can easily quit before that time. However, a huge percent of smokers have trouble quitting their habit of smoking and suffer from unalterable health effects. One of the main tribulations due to smoking is that it damages the lungs. It irritates and damages the respiratory tract.

The new laws that ban smoking in public places such as bars and restaurants, is a smart move by the state. We all know that smoking is detrimental to an individual’s health by polluting one’s lungs, yellowing teeth, and causing bad breath. It is a very expensive habit since prices for cigarettes go up every year and more and more people can not afford them. Smoking not only is harmful to an individual, the smoke from a cigarette directly affects the people around the smoker, otherwise known as second-hand smoke.

Cigarette smoking during pregnancy increases the risk of low birth weight, prematurity, spontaneous abortion, and perinatal mortality in humans, which has been referred to as the fetal tobacco syndrome.

Today, many smokers give up not only because of the health risks to themselves, but also to those around them . Others choose to give up in order to save money or to stop smoking from interrupting their daily routines. And some just want to feel better and for their clothes to smell better.

My life as a teenager

A teenager's life is not as simple as many think. We have to go through a lot of changes. Many people believe the change is only physical, which is completely untrue. The greatest change a teenager faces are those which is psychological. Teenagers are constanly pressured by their surroundings, which explains the reason for them being stressed.

Teenage years should be the most exciting, enjoyable and memorable times in everyone's life. There are many things that I enjoy at this point of my life. I enjoy drawing, listening to music, sleeping, eating as much as I want to and many many more. Some of these things cannot be enjoyed as much when we grow older, for example we cannot eat too much when we reach middle age.

Sometimes I  feel that I am blessed because I have a happy and a good family. My parents do not give me a lot of pressure. Actually I am happy everyday. The school that I go to now also does not give me pressure, unlike my previous school. So, that is why I am happy.

The only thing that worry me now is my grades. I want to do better in my exams. Each time I want to get better marks than the last exams. These days everything revolves around money, and sometimes it seems impossible to have a good life without it. This makes me realize the importance of education and planning for my future and how it will have an effect on my life later on.

I'm glad to have some friends that are very nice to me. Everyday we enjoy each other's company. Sometimes we joke and have fun together. We also like to tease each other. Every year there wil be new friends joining us from other places. I love to make new friends. I guess now should be the best part of my life.

When do you think you can start dating?

This is a hard question. Different people start dating at different ages. It usually depends on the teenager's maturity and who they are dating. It also depends on how ready she or he is. I am currently 14 and if you ask me "So, you want to go on a date "  I'd probably say no. I have school, friends and I have my goals and dreams to fulfill. I think I shoud wait until I am in college. There is less chance of me making bad choices.  Moreover, there isn't anyone that I want to date at this moment. I will only think about this question when I meet someone that I like. When the time comes I will ask my parents if it is alright for me to date someone.

Some people start dating when they are very young. I know someone who starts dating at the age of 13. Of course this is not a serious relationship, but you can already see how different personalities and characters start dating at different ages. Teens are doing everything too young. Just because they become a teenager, why does that mean they are old enough to date? If they really have to, they have to know what the rules are and follow them. They shouldn't do what they shoudn't do.

They could go to their dates house only if " a parent " is going to be home the whole time. I've noticed in school and around town when students get caught up in dating and etc they lose all sense of direction and school is the least thing on their minds. So dating should not be encourage until the child is mentally, emotionally capable of handing the pressures of life. Even many adults can't handle serious relationship. So, even if the child is mature waiting a few years will not kill them. The extra time will help them become more mature. If they go behind their parents backs and date, then they are not mature at all. This is only what I thought.

Maybe teenages should consider hanging out with a mix group (boys and girls) of friends and going to movies, swimming, sporting events, bike rides, etc. so that you can develop skills in relating to all kinds of people.

How to Train Your Dragon

How to Train Your Dragon is a 2010 computer-animated fantasy film by DreamWorks Animation loosely based on the 2003 book of the same title. The film stars the voice talents of Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Gerard Butler, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Craig Ferguson, and David Tennant.

The story takes place in a mythical Viking world where a young Viking teenager named "Hiccup" aspires to follow his tribe's tradition of becoming a dragon slayer. After finally capturing his first dragon, and with his chance at finally gaining the tribe's acceptance, he finds that he no longer has the desire to kill it and instead befriends it. The film was released March 26, 2010, to near universal acclaim.

                                                                          Development

In initial development, the plot followed the original novel closely but was then altered. About halfway through production, Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois, the writer-directors of Disney's Lilo & Stitch, took over as co-directors. The original plot was "heavily loyal to the book", but was regarded as geared to a too-young demographic and too "sweet" and "whimsical", according to Baruchel. In the novel, Hiccup's dragon, Toothless, is incredibly small for a dragon. In the film, Toothless is a Night Fury, the rarest of all dragons, and is large enough to serve as a flying mount for both Hiccup and Astrid.

The filmmakers hired cinematographer Roger Deakins (known for frequently collaborating with the Coen brothers) as a visual consultant to help them with lighting and overall look of the movie and "add a live-action feel".

Dragon Species

Night Fury
The rarest and most intelligent of the dragon species. It can fly higher, faster and longer than any dragon, and its incredible power-to-weight ratio renders it capable of vertical takeoff.

Monstrous Nightmare
This dragon can attack any time of the day or night, from the air or on the ground. It is highly aggressive, and will never run from a fight.

Gronckle
Gronckle are lazy. They are slow in the air, but make up for this with their maneuverability. A Gronckle can fly backwards, sideways, and even hover. Gronckles attack from the air, where their primary weapon is most effective

Deadly Nadder
Perhaps the most beautiful dragon. Nadders are quick and agile in the air and can fly for long distances. The blast of a Nadder can melt steel, or turn a man to ash in seconds. It possesses the hottest fire in the dragon world.

Zippleback
The Zippeback is one of the largest dragons one may ever encounter.Zippelbacks are solitary, preferring to hunt alone.Instead of breathing fire, a Zippel makes explosions. One head breathes gas, and the other head ignites it.

Terrible Terror
Smallest of the dragons is the Terrible Terror. The largest on record was a mob of Terrors over two hundred strong.even the strongest Viking can be overwhelmed, and the biggest sheep can be stolen.

Bonsai kitten SO CRUEL!!!

its a cruel act that has been done..but now has stoped..maybe you know about it, maybe you dont..

Bonsai Kitten was an internet hoax that claimed to give instructions on how to grow kittens in bottles as a form of decoration, similar in fashion to a Bonsai tree. Soon after birth the kitten is supposedly placed in a glass container, allowing the kitten to grow to fill the vessel that contains it.

The kitten allegedly breathes through specially drilled holes in the glass and may be fed and expel waste through tubes, and their purpose is supposedly as an elaborate ornament, instead of a pet. While the website is no longer online, mirrors with copies of the website content exist and are generally referred to.

The hoax

Despite a massive negative response and much belief otherwise, the entire site was an elaborate hoax by a group of MIT graduate students.

The site was in part a parody of the Japanese art of bonsai, but also resembles the mythical practice of comprachicos (in which the subjects are human).

The hoax suggested that people could buy the required equipment through the website; this turned out to be entirely false, like the rest of the site. The hoaxer went so far as to create a falsified guestbook on the site, containing user responses, but checking these email addresses proves fruitless, as none of the users are real. Further support for the hoax came in the form of a falsified mailing list.

The original registrant for Bonsaikitten.com was falsely listed with the address for the Department of Art History and Archaeology, Columbia University.

What is anime?

What is anime?

Anime is actually a shortened version of the word "animation" and refers to the distinctly unique Japanese animation. Anime originated back in 1963 when a man named Osamu Tezuka produced the first truly successful Japanese animation series known as "Testuwan Atom," aka "Atom Boy." Testuwan was a big fan of popular Western cartoons, particularly those produced by Disney.

Like any other type of visual entertainment, anime has its own set of genres, demographics and yes, even ratings. Unlike American cartoons, anime is not strictly intended for young children. Quite the contrary, there is an entire anime subset devoted strictly to older viewers (18+), as well as all the maturity levels in between.

Both hand-drawn and computer-animated anime exist. It is used in television series, films, video, video games, commercials, and internet-based releases, and represents most, if not all, genres of fiction. Anime gained early[when?] popularity in East and Southeast Asia and has garnered more-recent popularity in the Western World.[
Today's anime has made leaps and bounds in terms of storylines and animation techniques. Think of the old Popeye cartoons and then compare them to a more modern Family Guy or Kim Possible and you get the idea.

Anime also displays some cultural differences. For example, casual nudity is accepted in Japan so shows rated for young teens might feature some content that American parents might feel was mildly suggestive.

Hamster baby

One day, I wake up and find a little bundle of pink, bald, wriggling little bodies somewhere in my hamsters cage! I find it in bedding boxes, but it can be anywhere. This can come as a huge surprise, especially as the pet store told me they were both boys or both girls. I have just become a hamster breeder.

I certainly don't want them to be eaten by the father hamster, which can and does happen. I need to take some action,I seperate the father hamster to the other hamster cage.

I cannot touch the babies hamster at this time. The mother will feed the babies for the first 2-3 weeks with her milk and will usually bury them somewhere secure, often a nest box.She will often move them from time to time.

I always see she grabs har babies one by one by the scruff of the neck and moves them somewhere else in the hamster cage, often simply to move them back a few minutes or hours later.

Then,I enjoy the baby hamsters growing up and make sure that they end up in happy homes.

Alice in Wonderland

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland commonly shortened to Alice in Wonderland is an 1865 novel written by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll . The tale is filled with allusions to Dodgson's friends. The tale plays with logic in ways that have given the story lasting popularity with adults as well as children.[2] It is considered to be one of the best examples of the 'literary nonsense' genre,[2][3] and its narrative course and structure have been enormously influential,[3] especially in the fantasy genre."

The story is about Alice is sitting on the riverbank with his sister. Suddenly she sees a talking, clothed White Rabbit with a watch run past. She follows the White Rabbit into a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar and anthropomorphic creatures. There are many characters can be found in this story (Alice In Wonderland), such as The Cheshire Cat, The Hatter, The Queen Of Hearts and more...The main characters is Alice.

CNY holiday

This holiday,I celebrated Chinese New Year with my family and friends. On the eve of Chinese New Year, my family and I travelled to Ipoh to celebrate with other family members. When we reached my aunty"s house, my aunties and cousins welcome us at the front gate. As soon as we stepped out from the car, everybody wish us'Gong Xi Fa Cai' loudly.

That evening, we ate reunion dinner together. We were all very happy during dinner. Everyone was talking to each other. We laughed and joked through dinner.

On the first few days of Chinese New Year we did not go out much. Most of the time we stayed at home watching TV. Besides that, I spent a lot of time chit chatting with my cousins.

One of the most enjoyable thing that we did was making dumplings. Everybody helped out in the kitchen. It was the first experience for some of my cousins to make dumplings. I taught them how to make. We took pictures of the event.

On the first night of Chinese New Year, we played with fire works. We did not have fire crackers but the neighbours made a lot of noise with their loud fire crackers.

I enjoyed this Chinese New Year very much.
