Hamster baby

One day, I wake up and find a little bundle of pink, bald, wriggling little bodies somewhere in my hamsters cage! I find it in bedding boxes, but it can be anywhere. This can come as a huge surprise, especially as the pet store told me they were both boys or both girls. I have just become a hamster breeder.

I certainly don't want them to be eaten by the father hamster, which can and does happen. I need to take some action,I seperate the father hamster to the other hamster cage.

I cannot touch the babies hamster at this time. The mother will feed the babies for the first 2-3 weeks with her milk and will usually bury them somewhere secure, often a nest box.She will often move them from time to time.

I always see she grabs har babies one by one by the scruff of the neck and moves them somewhere else in the hamster cage, often simply to move them back a few minutes or hours later.

Then,I enjoy the baby hamsters growing up and make sure that they end up in happy homes.
